Our rugs are handwoven on pedal looms by master weavers in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, and Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca. We create the solid, flatweave colored rugs from our natural dyes. The esthetic is one of uniformity with tonal variations throughout, due to the nature of the wool and natural dyeing process.

Saxonia, the most vibrant color in our color library, is derived from an 18th-century recipe of dyeing with indigo. It can best be described as a combination of blue and green. Our Blue Saxonia contains more blue hues, and with lighter wool as the base, we’ve emphasized Saxonia’s depth and serene qualities.
