Nuno felting

Nuno felting is a wet felting technique that blends together wool fibers. The molecular structure of the wool allows the fibers to interlace when handling and manipulating them. Once the process is finished, the fibers can no longer be separated, resulting in a non-woven fabric of luxury appearance and exceptional textures.

At Madda Studio, we create Nuno fabric by felting the highest-quality merino wool with luxurious silk. Blending silk into the process adds lightness, flow, drapery and an elegant texture to the end product.

We use the Nuno felt to create pillows and throws. Given the great versatility of the technique, we are open to special projects, such as headboards and wall art.

Needle felting

Needle felting is a dry felting technique, where loose wool fibers are sculpted into shapes and designs using a specialized needle. The needle has barbs - small notches - that catch the wool fibers and interlock them as the needle is poked in and out.

At Madda Studio, we use silk as our base fabric when needle felting. This technique creates a dense but delicate fabric that we use to create wall art and special upholstery projects.
